My aim was to design a Christmas card range that people love to give because it celebrates the birds and blooms of an Australian Summertime Christmas with minimal environmental impact and additionally benefits our environment in a positive way. Earth Greetings support of the Australian not-for-profit organization Trees For Life has enabled us to do this. We make a donation to them from every pack of Christmas cards sold enabling them to plant a native tree.
By choosing 100% post-consumer recycled paper for the Christmas cards and packaging as well as 100% post-consumer recycled, natural and unbleached envelopes we have kept environmental impact to a minimum. The packaging is designed to that the designs on the front show through a window which holds the product in place without the use of plastic. The cards are printed locally by a carbon neutral printer, using vegetable based ink.
The remaining life cycle of the paper, printing, packaging and freight is measured and offset as part of Earth Greetings’ annual carbon audit. 100% of the greenhouse gas emissions of this product have been offset making it carbon neutral.
Since 2008, Earth Greetings have enabled Trees For Life to plant more than 40,000 trees as a result of donations from pack sales. The “Every pack plants a tree” message is proudly displayed on the packs and POS displays and many people say they are encouraged to buy these cards in order to help the environment.
