Every year around 120 Art + Design students graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and to celebrate their journey and achievements two students are hired to design a culminating BFA Catalog.
2017 was the 150th sesquicentennial of the University of Illinois, so that became an important visual theme for the two graphic designers Gracie Sullivan and Robert Marohn. They chose to celebrate not only their peers’ work, but the state and University of Illinois through a selection of public domain etchings of native Illinois animals and plants. Connected to this, they also chose environmentally friendly papers to ensure that this great state of Illinois can be beautiful and safe for generations to come.
The two student designers won a GDUSA student design award for this catalog.
